Who are we?
Showrunner, conceptual director & writer
NIVI PEDERSEN
I am constantly baffled and amazed at our own history, and of what I didn't know of it. We're exploring what we know, what we didn't know, what we ought to know and what someone didn't want us to know. And my privilege now is to tell you of this piece of local world history that we're unearthing.
Nivi is a powerhouse within the film landscape in Greenland. Her career began with a passion for storytelling combined with an academic background in Greenlandic Language, Literature and Media.
As an actress she has starred in big TV series like HBO's True Detective: Night Country and Netflix' Borgen: Power & Glory.
She is also a prizewinning producer, director and writer, who has led creative projects, managed production processes, and achieved recognition winning the Innersuaq award for her work in the industry and the Moon Jury Award at ImagiNATIVE in Toronto for the documentary Pillaurneq Ersigiunnaarpara.

HELENE GRANQVIST
In 2015 I visited Greenland and encountered Greenlandic storytelling for the first time. I was thrilled by the complexity, magic and sense of humor I met. This project contains all that. I believe that the stories in Oqaluttuamik will both empower and inspire. Mudi and Nivi represent a modern Greenlandic perspective and worldview which I'm very proud of being part of bringing to the world.
Helene is a Swedish prizewinning fiction and documentary producer who has worked with film and television for more than 30 years. Her films have been represented at festivals - like Cannes, Toronto and Venice. VALERIA RICHTER
This is in many ways a groundbreaking docu series, and it is long overdue, so I can't wait to see Mudi and Nivi realise it and make it travel the world, and I am so excited to take part in their journey. The way Oqaluttuamik conveys Greenland's history is unique and I believe it will inspire more indigenous histories to be produced.
Valeria works internationally since 2006; she writes and consults on feature films/TV series, develops lab concepts, and specialises in pitch coaching. She has headed 60+ workshops since she co-created the renowned training outfit, TorinoFilmLab, where she developed the strategic approach Audience Design, writing a free e-book on it in 2018. She premiered an 8-part TV drama series Next of Kin (Bufo) as head writer/creator in Finland 2022.
Director - dramatizations
INUK SILIS HØEGH
Inuits dramatic history is visually severely under-described. Especially from within. I think that is a shame, because I think there is things to learn. not just for ourselves, the inuit, but for the world. How have man been able to survive in the northenmost and most unforgiving environment on our planet? How did we do it?
Inuk has directed and co-written a number of documentaries and dramatic productions including the 2014 documentary "Sume, The Sound of A Revolution", the art film installation "The Green Land" in 2022 and dramatisations in the 2022 historical series Historien om Grønland og Danmark produced by Danish Broadcasting Corporation DR-TV.
Inuk got his M.A. in Film & TC Production at the University of Bristol in 1997 and graduated from the Royal Danish Art Academy in 2010.
Exec. Producer
EMILE HERTLING PÉRONARD
Oqaluttuamik turns the lens on Greenland's history, and for the first time, we'll have substantial documentation of our past – from our own perspective. I believe that the series will have tremendous value for us as a people, and it will provide a new starting point for discussing Arctic Indigenous issues on a global scale.
Emile Hertling Péronard (he/him) is an award-winning and Oscar-nominated Greenlandic film producer operating out of both Nuuk and Copenhagen. A 2023 Cannes Producer on the Move, his films have screened at Cannes, Venice, Berlinale, Sundance and more. He is the Chair of Arctic Indigenous Film Fund, on the Board of Directors at ARTEF - the Anti-Racism Taskforce for European Film, the Executive Director of Nuuk International Film Festival, and in 2023, he was awarded the Greenlandic film prize, Innersuaq, for his work.

PAALIIT MØLGAARD
We're the ones who know the most about Greenland and our culture - we're living it. But our history and our own identity as a people has never really been presented visually. We need a shared collection of knowledge easily accessible and understandable suitable for our present. Told by us. It's an important and exciting process and project.
Paaliit has worked with creating concepts and contents at KNR, Greenland Broadcasting Corporation, and hosted numerous shows for both television and radio, live and on tape. Paaliit is a trained actress from the National Theater School of Greenland and has starred in both theaters as well as international TV productions such as Borgen: Power and Glory and Smilla's Sense of Snow. Apart from her credited work she is a singer with multiple Koda award winning albums.

DAVID SELLNER ADLER
Oqaluttuamik is, in its simplest form, a history of a nation. The series, transcending its own medium, becomes an examination of identity by revisiting the multitude of voices that still have not been heard. Nivi and Mudi needs to tell this story; it is a socially relevant and culturally important series to make right now.
David works within the crossroads of media like documentary, fiction, animation and XR. David studied at the Danish Film School and works as a director and collaborator on a wide gamut of projects. David focuses on uniting complex stories and techniques into an aesthetic and coherent experience, and at the same time serving and emphasising the narrative while avoiding common technical pitfalls to leave room for the creative ideas to unfold.
Oqaluttuamik is collaborating with and supported by
